Entered The Lord Of Lords Is Risen Today In A Song Contest
Posted on February 27, 2010 with 0 commentsYesterday I had a snow day off from my job as a teacher. I practiced, did some networking, and my daughter record a video of me singing The Lord Of Lords Is Risen Today. I entered it in a song contest sponsored by Contemporary Christian Music International. http://ccmni.mmgi.org/home.html
In my career as a song writer I had written many Christian songs. One day a few weeks before Easter in 2003 I thought, "I have never written an Easter song. I think I am going to write one." The Lord Of Lords Is Risen Today is the song that eventually came out. Musically I think it has the same type of feel as Lord I Lift Your Name On High.
The song was originally written in the key of G, but for some reason I can't sing it in that key anymore, so on the video I have a capo on the 4th fret.
I am also going to teach this song to the congregations where I am presenting the Passion Play On Guitar Concerts. It would be cool if it would become one of those songs everybody knows!
I have an instrumental version of it on my Lasting Love And Lasting Peace CD.
Even tough my main focus of my ministry is still instrumental, I am going to keep entering songs in the CCMNI song contests and am going to begin adding some vocal things to my concerts.
If you have not heard the song yet, here is the link.

Other music news: My pastor has asked me to start picking out the music for our Wednesday night Bible studies at my home church, Pine Grove UMC in York, PA. Last week was the first week I did that. This week we are singing Jesus Loves Me, Pass It On, and Holy, Holy, Holy. The pastor leads the singing while I play!
That is all the news for now!
